Agua Morada Hotel y Restaurante

A lovely place for camping or renting a cabin for the night. There's a small lake on the property where you can sit and chill or you can take a walk in the grove. The place is fenced so it's rather safe. The restaurant is open from the early morning until late at night and the staff is very friendly. The price for camping is slightly elevated in comparison to other places in the area (250 per person) but it's worth it since the place has more facilities to offer.

Agua Morada is a magical place to disconnect from busy life and reconnect with nature. It is an old distillery turned into a beautiful hotel. The treehouses and suites are absolutely amazing and unique. A newly renovated section was turned into a stunning house for large families. The food is incredible and traditional. There is fresh trout available, which is raised in artisanal fish tanks. The cozy restaurant also offers dishes made with local fruits and vegetables. The service is lovely. The staff make you feel right at home. Newly installed Starlink internet makes work-from-anywhere possible. A beautiful pond with ducks and a nice network of trails provide ample opportunities for outdoor activities. The trails follow a gorgeous creek and waterfall. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to this little gem 2hrs away from Mexico City.

This place is an absolute gem! I spent a few days here by myself reconnecting with nature, doing yoga, grounding, admiring the beautiful surroundings, and savoring nourishing local food prepared by the lovely staff. The serene environment and the warm hospitality made my stay truly special. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind and rejuvenate.

This hotel is heaven!! It’s a perfect retreat from the city, an excellent romantic getaway, or just a close trip to the countryside. It’s surrounded by trees, greenery, animals, the friendliest staff, and amazing food. I felt genuine care while I was there and left feeling peaceful and recharged. The pictures don’t do it justice. Can’t recommend it enough.

We visited Agua Morada late February this year and we loved it. My husband is from the UK and he loved being in such a special place in Mexico. There's beautiful hiking paths, a lake and plenty of wildlife to look at. The cabins are beautiful and have a homey feel. We worked our way through most of the menu and there was no fault, everything was delicious and the staff was super friendly and accommodating, specially the estate and hotel manager, Miroslava, who goes above and beyond for her guests. This place is perfect for tuning into an amazing harmony and enjoy plenty of outdoor activities or just fully disconnect from our busy life's. During our stay there were many other guests also on site, but you never felt intruded a upon the wide open spaces of Agua Morada ensure you are able to find you peace and quiet. Will definitely go back when we visit Mexico next time.

Beautiful little hotel in nature - with a lake, animals, and a very friendly staff. Relaxed, read, came back rejuvenated. Highly recommend it!

Incredible experience and welcoming energy from the family here. I’m from Chicago and really appreciated the architecture, the new master suite was designed after inspiration from Frank Lloyd Wright. had a great time hiking and seeing the waterfalls, the kitchen had delicious authentic dishes. A home away from home. Can’t wait to be back.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Peaceful Escape in the Heart of Hidalgo. Just 2hrs away from CDMX My stay at Agua Morada was absolutely magical. I stayed in the Master Suite, which was spacious and beautifully designed. Every space reflected the care and charm of this finca, with architecture that blends effortlessly into the surrounding nature. One of the most special parts of the experience was the hiking trails, one of which leads to a hidden waterfall. Just a breathtaking escape. After a peaceful walk, returning to this boutique hotel truly felt like coming home. Their on site restaurant is a treasure of its own, serving typical local dishes full of flavor and sazón. I loved sitting outdoors, surrounded by the natural beauty and stillness, savoring every bite. The energy here is calm and grounding. Agua Morada is not just a place to stay… It’s a place to reconnect, recharge, and experience the magic of Hidalgo through all the senses. I can’t wait to go back!
